What the heck are Recyclatorz?

Recyclatorz are like terminators, only instead of killing people we recycle bottles and cans for people who lack the time or resources to do it themselves.

We are passionate about keeping litter off of our streets, out of landfills and out of our waterways. We routinely comb the bank of the American River to remove garbage and recyclables that pose a deadly threat to not only the local wildlife, but also to ocean wildlife once it makes its way out to sea. The parkway looks so pretty when we're done, and we delight to see the creatures who live there thriving.

Turning our avocation into a business seems a logical option for us. Retired from full time home management and needing to contribute financially to the household, Sue has worked part time doing office work. But there is a problem. Disabled by Crohn's Disease, Sue is unable to work full days and cannot work regular hours. A simple, low-stress, self-run venture with flexible scheduling seems the ideal way to turn a true passion into needed cash.

So what we do is, we collect bottles and cans from clients. We rinse them out and then we cash them in. We don't charge anything for the service! Yes, really! We can provide bins for our clients to use or we can empty our clients' bins into ours. We're all about being flexible.

As for our mascot, Orville's a rat but he's a good guy who really cares about recycling. He's a little worse for wear because gathering litter is not easy work. One ends up in some pretty yucky and even trecherous places. But do notice his earring! That was Daughter's idea.

Email us at recyclatorz@gmail.com or call 916-802-9419 for details. Service is currently available only in the Sacramento area. We can only accept beverage containers with redemption value -- glass, aluminum and plastic.

We are not here to compete with the local utilities. We support the use of curbside recycling wherever it is available. Proceeds from those recyclables support your local waste management program.

The thing is that there are situations and circumstances that can get in the way of using curbside service. One is scavenging by "dumpster divers". They're stealing from your waste management company, and some customers are choosing to keep their CRVs (California Redemption Value) items out of the cans rather than support scavenging in their neighborhoods.

Other circumstances include big events or parties or even small business lunchrooms where recycling service is unavailable, unaffordable or impractical. That's where we come in. We can schedule regular service or respond to sporadic needs. Contact us today!
